NEW DELHI, OCT 13, 2026: UNION Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, yesterday launched the Commercialisation Catalogue of Technologies developed under the Science & Technology (S&T) Programme of the Ministry of Mines, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the Department of Science and Technology (DST), and industry-sponsored programmes. This is an important step towards bridging the gap between research and industries showcasing indigenous technologies and facilitating their transfer, adoption, and commercialisation by industry.

The initiative aims to systematically document, showcase and promote technologies developed through publicly funded research and industry-supported projects, facilitating their adoption by industries, technology transfer, licensing and commercialisation. The Catalogue will serve as a common platform connecting technology developers, research institutions, laboratories, start-ups, MSMEs and industries, enabling promising indigenous technologies to progress from research and development to industrial application

A significant number of R&D projects have resulted in valuable technological outcomes, including innovative processes, prototypes, pilot-scale technologies, patents and other commercially relevant solutions. However, these outcomes are often dispersed across individual project reports and institutions. The proposed Catalogue seeks to address this gap by bringing verified technical information on such technologies together in a single, accessible repository for industries and prospective technology adopters.

To facilitate participation in this initiative, the Ministry is seeking standardised and verified technical inputs from Principal Investigators (PIs), Co-Principal Investigators (Co-PIs), implementing institutions and technology developers through the SATYABHAMA Portal (https://research.mines.gov.in/). The information submitted will support the assessment of technology outcomes, validation of technical details, preparation of technology profiles and identification of technologies with potential for commercialisation.

The Commercialisation Catalogue represents a significant step towards building a technology-driven and industry-oriented innovation ecosystem in India, ensuring that promising research outcomes translate into practical industrial solutions, economic value and wider technological impact.
