NEW DELHI, OCT 08, 2026: THE National Land Monetization Corporation (NLMC), under the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), Ministry of Finance, Government of India, conducted a physical mock e-auction platform training in Visakhapatnam on October 6, 2026, to familiarise prospective bidders with the online bidding process ahead of the upcoming e-auction of 459 land parcels of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

The hands-on training was organised for providing prospective bidders and other interested stakeholders an opportunity to experience the e-auction platform in a simulated environment. The sessions covered the bidding interface, participation procedure and other key aspects of the online auction process, enabling participants to gain practical familiarity with the platform ahead of the live auctions.

To facilitate participation by prospective bidders who could not attend the physical training, NLMC also conducted an online mock e-auction platform training on October 7, 2026. The online session provided participants an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the digital bidding process remotely ahead of the live auctions scheduled for October 12 and 16, 2026.

The mock e-auction initiatives are being conducted just days ahead of the two-phase RINL land e-auction, with the first phase scheduled for October 12, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, followed by the second phase on October 16, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

During the event, CEO, NLMC, Rohan Chand Thakur said that, the physical and online mock e-auction sessions are important steps towards ensuring that prospective bidders are familiar with the digital bidding process ahead of the live auctions. Our endeavour is to make the auction process transparent, accessible and participant-friendly, while providing prospective bidders adequate opportunity to understand the platform and complete the necessary formalities within the prescribed timelines. The RINL land auction presents a significant asset monetisation opportunity, and NLMC remains committed to facilitating the process in a professional, transparent and structured manner.

The physical and online mock e-auction sessions further strengthen this outreach by providing prospective bidders with practical exposure to the digital bidding platform.

The two-pronged mock training initiative, physical training in Visakhapatnam on October 6 and online training on October 7, is aimed at ensuring wider access and greater bidder preparedness before the live auctions.

NLMC is facilitating the monetisation of surplus land and non-core assets of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and Government agencies as part of the Government's broader objective of unlocking the value of under-utilised assets through transparent and structured processes.
