Union renewable energy minister will inaugurate Windergy India 2026 in Chennai on Oct 8

NEW DELHI, OCT 06, 2026: UNION Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Education and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Pralhad Joshi, will inaugurate the 8th edition of Windergy India on October 8th, 2026, at the Chennai Trade Centre, setting in motion India's premier wind energy show.

Establishing a high-level strategic tone for the three-day event, the grand inauguration ceremony will be graced by Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Power, and Thiru. C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar, Minister for Energy Resources and Law, Govt. of Tamil Nadu. The event will also have presence of senior officials from central & state governments, wind energy associations and industry icons.

The inauguration will feature global MoU announcements and the launch of key sectoral reports, alongside recognition of states demonstrating leadership in the wind energy sector.

India added a record 6.05 GW of wind capacity in FY2025-26, with cumulative capacity reaching 58.52 GW by August 2026. With 28 GW under implementation supporting the goal of 100 GW by 2030.

Running from October 7th-9th, 2026, Windergy India 2026 will comprise a 3-Day Trade Fair, 2-Day Conference, Technical Sessions, Round Tables, Live Demonstrations, B2B & B2G Meetings and Academia Connect. The landmark edition will serve as the definitive global epicenter for the wind energy sector, bringing together around 400 global exhibitors from over 20 countries alongside 500 delegates, further elevated by dedicated country pavilions from Denmark, Germany, and Spain.

The event will highlight domestic value addition, advanced next-gen turbine platforms, heavy-duty gearboxes, AI-driven O&M, and offshore wind capabilities. The conference will feature parallel high-level deliberations on policy frameworks, manufacturing competitiveness, repowering strategies, and offshore wind frontiers.

The event is being organised by the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) and PDA Ventures Pvt. Ltd. with support from the MNRE and MoP. The inauguration will underscore a unified national and international commitment to scaling India's renewable capacities.
