BHASHINI showcases Multilingual AI Solutions at GatiSheel Jammu & Kashmir 2.0

NEW DELHI, OCT 03, 2026: THE Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD), under the Digital India Corporation (DIC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, participated as an Associate Partner in the three-day national exhibition "GatiSheel Jammu & Kashmir 2.0", held from 28 to 30 September 2026 in Jammu. The exhibition brought together government departments, institutions and organisations to showcase initiatives, technologies and citizen-centric services contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
BHASHINI showcased its multilingual language technology ecosystem through an exhibition stall, providing visitors with an opportunity to experience how Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based language technologies can support multilingual digital access and citizen-facing services. The participation also provided a platform to engage with government stakeholders, students, technology enthusiasts, industry representatives and members of the public.
As part of the exhibition, the BHASHINI team conducted live demonstrations of its multilingual Language AI capabilities and use cases, showcasing applications across governance, citizen services, access to justice and multilingual digital communication. The demonstrations highlighted how technologies such as speech recognition, speech synthesis, translation, transliteration and voice-enabled interaction can be integrated into digital services to enable more accessible and inclusive interactions across languages.
The BHASHINI stall witnessed good footfall and strong visitor engagement throughout the three-day exhibition. Visitors interacted with the team, explored the BHASHINI application and participated in the selfie booth, providing an opportunity to create greater awareness about BHASHINI's multilingual language technologies and their applications in everyday digital services.
The exhibition also facilitated interactions with stakeholders from diverse sectors, enabling discussions around Language AI, multilingual digital services and potential avenues for institutional outreach and collaboration. The engagement provided opportunities to understand stakeholder requirements and explore areas where BHASHINI's language technologies could support wider adoption of multilingual digital services.
The participation also witnessed visits by dignitaries, including Jugal Kishore Sharma, Hon'ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Jammu & Kashmir, and Ansuya Jamwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, who visited the BHASHINI stall and interacted with the team. The presentation of a memento to BHASHINI in recognition of its association as an Associate Partner during the concluding day marked a significant acknowledgement of its participation in the exhibition.
The three-day engagement at GatiSheel Jammu & Kashmir 2.0 provided BHASHINI with an opportunity to demonstrate the role of Language AI in enabling inclusive digital governance, while strengthening awareness of its multilingual technology ecosystem among citizens and stakeholders in the region.
