Scindia inaugurates Renovated Guna Head Post Office in MP

NEW DELHI, SEP 19, 2026: THE renovated Guna Head Post Office was inaugurated on 17th September 2026 by Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region. The inauguration marks an important step towards modernising postal infrastructure and providing more citizen-centric services.
The renovation and look-and-feel improvement of Guna Head Post Office has been undertaken at a cost of approximately Rs 38 lakh, in accordance with the design guidelines of the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi, under the Department of Posts' initiative for modernisation of post offices across the country.
The renovated Head Post Office now presents a modern and improved environment for citizens availing postal and financial services. The upgraded infrastructure is aimed at making services more convenient, accessible and customer-friendly, while providing a better experience to the people of Guna and the surrounding areas.
Guna Head Post Office serves a large population of the district and, with its modernised infrastructure, will continue to provide reliable, accessible and citizen-centric postal and financial services.
During the programme, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia appreciated the services being provided by the Department of Posts in the region and the efforts being undertaken to modernise the postal network. He said that post offices equipped with modern facilities would give renewed momentum to postal services and help provide better and quality services to citizens. He also highlighted the well-organised token system introduced at the renovated post office, which will enable customers to avail services in an orderly manner without having to wait in crowded queues. A digital display screen has also been installed to provide information on the timelines for various services. For instance, a duplicate passbook can now be issued within one day.
The Hon'ble Minister also highlighted the digital transformation of postal services and noted that the expansion of digital technology has reduced the need for citizens to visit post offices repeatedly for several services. Through the Dak Sewa and Dak Mitra apps, citizens can access a range of postal services from the convenience of their homes, making postal services more accessible, faster and citizen-centric.
The inauguration of the renovated Guna Head Post Office represents another step towards the Department of Posts' broader efforts in modernising postal infrastructure, expanding services, strengthening digital delivery and enhancing the capabilities of its workforce. The upgraded facility is expected to further improve the delivery of postal and financial services to citizens in Guna and the surrounding areas.
