Union Minister to inaugurate NCVET Capacity Building

NEW DELHI, APR 07, 2026: NATIONAL Council for Vocational Education and Training, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will organise a one-day Capacity Building & Awareness Workshop for Awarding Bodies (ABs) yesterday at Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi.

The workshop is aimed at strengthening the skilling ecosystem by improving implementation practices, enhancing awareness of regulatory frameworks, and promoting alignment with national priorities in vocational education and training.

The workshop is intended to address key operational and implementation challenges faced by Awarding Bodies and support them in effectively discharging their responsibilitie. It seeks to strengthen alignment with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF), enhance understanding of NCVET's regulatory framework and guidelines, and promote the adoption of digital platforms such as NQR, Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), SIDH, DigiLocker, and KaushalVerse.

The programme will be graced by Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge), MSDE, and Minister of State for Education, along with Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary, MSDE and Chairperson, NCVET, Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Gaba, Executive Member, NCVET, senior officials from MSDE, Ministry of Education, NCVET, representatives of Awarding Bodies and stakeholders from the skilling and education ecosystem will also participate in the workshop.

The workshop will commence with an inaugural session featuring the unveiling of NCVET's Employability Skills Modules and the release of NCVET's Bi-Annual Newsletter by the Minister. The technical sessions will cover key thematic areas including strengthening NSQF alignment and implementation through presentations on NCVET's regulatory framework and related functions, followed by sharing of best practices and challenges by Awarding Bodies. A dedicated session on digital integration will include presentations on KaushalVerse Portal, SIDH Portal, and the Academic Bank of Credits, highlighting the role of technology in enabling efficient and transparent skilling systems.

The programme will also include a panel discussion on the convergence of skilling initiatives, focusing on the role of Awarding Bodies in strengthening vocational education and training (VET) across government schemes and in general education. Further sessions will address training, assessment, and monitoring of Awarding Body operations, including NCVET's monitoring mechanisms in the skilling ecosystem. The detailed minute-to-minute programme includes presentations and interactions with leading Awarding Bodies and experts from institutions such as UGC, CBSE and DGT.

The workshop is expected to enhance clarity among Awarding Bodies regarding NCVET's regulatory expectations, promote consistency in qualification development, delivery, assessment, and certification, and encourage the sharing of best practices. It will also help identify operational challenges requiring resolution and strengthen the adoption of digital tools for improved transparency, coordination, and efficiency. The initiative reflects NCVET's continued commitment to building a robust, industry-aligned, and future-ready vocational education and training ecosystem in India.
