Govt to facilitate ICAI, ICSI, ICMAI to run short-term know-how courses for youth

NEW DELHI, FEB 01, 2026: THE Union Budget 2026 marks a key announcement aimed at skill development and youth empowerment, and the Finance Minister proposed to facilitate leading professional institutions like ICAI, ICSI and ICMAI to design and deliver short-term, modern know-how courses to create a skilled cadre of corporate-ready youth.

As per the Budget announcement, professional bodies such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) will be encouraged to play a major role in this initiative. These institutions will be supported in developing short-duration courses in line with contemporary industry requirements and evolving corporate practices.
