IICA set to host North-East Conclave 2025 in Shillong

NEW DELHI, JULY 11, 2025: THE Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, is set to host the IICA North-East Conclave 2025 on 11-12 July 2025 at the prestigious IIM Shillong Campus. The two-day flagship event, themed "From Ideation to Incorporation," is aimed at nurturing the startup and entrepreneurial ecosystem across the North-Eastern region. The Inaugural Ceremony will be from 09:30 AM onwards.

This Conclave is envisioned as a catalyst for innovation, incubation, and enterprise development through strategic policy discussions, institutional partnerships, and access to capital.

The event will be inaugurated by Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs in the august presence of Conrad K. Sangma, Chief Minister of Meghalaya. Deepti Gaur Mukerjee, Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs; Donald Phillips Wahlang, Chief Secretary, Government of Meghalaya; Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, Director General & CEO, IICA and other eminent dignitaries will also be present at the event.

The inaugural session will also witness participation from senior officials and leaders representing leading institutions such as IIM Shillong, STPI, NSIC VC Fund Ltd., SIDBI, DFS, NABARD, PNB, SBICAPS, BSE, NSE, ICAI, ICSI, ICMAI, and more.

The Conclave will host a diverse array of sessions and engagements, including:

- Startup incorporation & regulatory guidance

- Incubation and innovation models

- Funding opportunities (seed to early-stage)

- Policy frameworks & incentives for startups

- Entrepreneurship as a skilling & employment strategy

- Fireside chats with startup founders and investors

Special focus will be on women-led startups, regional MSMEs, and entrepreneurial ventures from all eight North-Eastern states.

Foundation Stone Laying - IICA North-East Campus

In a landmark development, the Conclave will witness the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the IICA North-East Regional Campus in Shillong by Nirmala Sitharaman, marking a significant step in bringing advanced policy education, governance training, and entrepreneurial support infrastructure to the region.

MoU Signing Ceremony

To institutionalize regional collaboration, IICA will sign seven strategic MoUs with the following key institutions like Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI), Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Shillong, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam

These partnerships will facilitate capacity building, compliance training, incubation, and regional knowledge exchange.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Shillong is the Knowledge Partner for this event.
