MoU signed to develop MY Bharat 2.0 Platform

NEW DELHI, JULY 01, 2025: IN a major step towards strengthening digital engagement with the country's youth, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Digital India Corporation (DIC), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technologyfor the development of MY Bharat 2.0 platform in New Delhi yesterday.

The upgraded national youth platform will leverage technology-driven solutions to empower and connect young people across the country. The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, and Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon'ble Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & Information Technology.

The event was also graced by S Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY; Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil, Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs (DoYA); and other senior officials from DoYA, MeitY and DIC.

Nitesh Kumar Mishra, Joint Secretary, DoYA and Nand Kumarum, MD & CEO, Digital India Corporation signed the MoU of the MY Bharat 2.0 platform.

Speaking on the occasion, Hon'ble Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw said "Today, as we build public digital platforms that transform lives, the idea behind MY Bharat is no different from what we have done with UPI, DigiLocker, or the Common Compute Facility. The objective is the same: scale with purpose, impact with speed."

Hon'ble Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, expressed: "65% of India's population are youth-our greatest strength and our greatest opportunity."

Following the signing of the MoU, the MY Bharat platform will now undergo a comprehensive upgrade to evolve into MY Bharat 2.0. This enhanced version will introduce new features aimed at improving user experience, accessibility, and functionality. The platform will be completely rebuilt using a modular architecture approach to ensure scalability and flexibility. In addition, a fully functional mobile application for both Android and iOS will be developed.

Support functions such as a dedicated call centre, training modules, cloud services, MIS (Management Information System), and communication tools including email and SMS services will be established to strengthen the platform's backend infrastructure.

Speaking on the occasion, S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, stated "Technology must be leveraged to build secure, scalable, and inclusive platforms for the youth."

Key AI-driven features will be introduced, including a Smart CV Builder, personalised Digital Profiles, and AI-powered chatbots. Speech-to-text capabilities, WhatsApp Integration and voice-assisted navigation will further improve usability and accessibility for all users.

Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil, Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, stressed

"Our focus must be on value, aspiration, opportunity, learning, and community connection."

Integrated dashboards will allow event-organising institutions and educational bodies to analyse and monitor outcomes effectively. Location intelligence and geo-tagging tools will help youth discover nearby opportunities based on geography or interest. Additionally, interactive learning modules and quizzes will be included to increase engagement and foster continuous learning.

MY Bharat 2.0 will also offer seamless integration with national digital platforms such as Aadhaar, DigiLocker, Bhashini, and MyGov, ensuring interoperability and a unified user experience. The upgraded portal will comply with the latest data protection and privacy norms, ensuring a secure and trustworthy digital environment for all users.

Further, the enhanced version of the platform will include dedicated sections for National Career Services, a Mentorship Hub, and a Fit India section to promote career growth, personal development, and health and wellness among youth. These integrations will help realise the vision of MY Bharat as a comprehensive one-stop digital gateway for youth engagement and empowerment.

The upgradation marks a strategic fusion of technology, governance, and youth energy, aiming to transform India's demographic dividend into a developmental dividend. MY Bharat 2.0 is set to play a crucial role in harnessing the potential of the Amrit Peedhi and advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

MY Bharat (https://mybharat.gov.in) is a dynamic technology platform conceptualized by the Department of Youth Affairs (DoYA) and developed by the Digital India Corporation (DIC) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). It serves as an institutional framework to engage and mobilize the youth of India in a structured and meaningful manner. The platform was officially launched by the Hon'ble Prime Minister on 31st October 2023.As of now, over 1.76 crore youth and more than 1.19 lakh organizations have registered on MY Bharat platform.

With the core objective of empowering youth through the Indian ethos of 'Seva Bhav' and 'Kartavya Bodh', the platform fosters a culture of purposeful youth engagement and civic responsibility by enabling young citizens to create digital profiles, participate in volunteering and learning opportunities, connect with mentors and peers, and contribute meaningfully to build a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
