Tata Motors says February 2021 sales highest in last 9 years

NEW DELHI, MAR 01, 2021: IN February, 2021 Tata Motors registered the highest ever sales for passenger vehicles in the past nine years, as their sales more than doubled on an annual basis, the company said in a regulatory filing on Monday.

"Tata Motors registered domestic sales of 58,473 units in February, 2021, a growth of 54 per cent over last year," said the company.

In the domestic and international market combined figures for February, 2021 stood at 61,365 vehicles, compared to 40,619 units during the corresponding period last year.

The total domestic sales for Tata Motors last month stood at 58,473, while it was 38,002 in the corresponding month last year, marking a 54 per cent growth, and 57,742 in January, 2021, marking a 1 per cent month-on-month change.

The total passenger vehicles sales for the Mumbai-based auto maker in February came in at 27,225 units which was a 119 per cent increase year-on-year compared to 12,430 units sold in February 2020.

Maruti Suzuki also posted a 11.8 per cent increase over its February, 2020 figures as the company posted sales of 1,64,469 units last month.

The total sales for Maruti Suzuki include domestic sales of 1,47,483 units, sales to other OEMs 5,500 units and exports of 11,486 units.
