RBI appoints S Ganesh Kumar as new ED

NEW DELHI, JUNE 02, 2017: THE Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Mr S. Ganesh Kumar as Executive Director (ED) consequent upon voluntary retirement of Mr Chandan Sinha on May 31, 2017. Mr S. Ganesh Kumar took charge yesterday.

As Executive Director, Mr Ganesh Kumar will look after Department of Information Technology, Department of Payment and Settlement Systems and Department of External Investments and Operations.

Mr Ganesh Kumar has done Masters in Business Administration from Cochin University of Science and Technology and also holds a diploma in Management from IIM, Bangalore, besides diplomas in Law and Banking.

Mr Ganesh Kumar joined the Reserve Bank in 1984 and as a career central banker, has served in the areas of payment systems, supervision, foreign exchange, information technology and Government and Bank Accounts in the Bank. Prior to being promoted as ED, Mr Ganesh Kumar was Chief General Manager-in-Charge, Department of Information Technology in the Reserve Bank.
