NTPC shows robust operational performance

NEW DELHI, MAR 02, 2017: DELIVERING strong performance on operational front, NTPC Group has registered 4.67 % growth in generation in the Current Financial over last financial year Group NTPC Generation till Feb FY-17. Four coal stations of NTPC are ranked among the top 5 performing stations in the country in terms of PLF for the 10 month period. Talcher Thermal, Sipat , Korba and Singrauli with PLF of 92.05 %,90.12%,87.9% and 86.36% respectively are ranked 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the country. Seven NTPC coal stations are among the top 10 performing stations of the country in terms of PLF.
In the month of February 2017 Korba stage II and Sipat Stage II achieved more than 100% PLF. On 25th and 26th February, four commercial stages of NTPC stations achieved more than 100 % PLF on each day and out of 35 commercial stages of coal stations 17 and 14 stages achieved more than 90% PLF respectively during the period.
NTPC has total installed capacity of 48143 MW from its 19 coal based, 7 gas based, 10 solar PV, one Hydro and 9 Subsidiaries / Joint Venture power stations. Company has capacity of over 23,000 MW under implementation at 23 locations across the country including 4300 MW being undertaken by joint venture and subsidiary companies. NTPC's First coal mine Pakri-Barwadih at Hazaribagh became operational in December 2016. First wind power project of NTPC- Rojmal Wind Energy Project 50 MW is being set up in the State of Gujarat.
The second 250MW unit at NTPC's first Power project in Bongaigaon has also has also been test synchronised recently.
