AP Govt, Toyota ink pact to launch e-vehicles in Amaravati

NEW DELHI, NOV 17, 2017: TOYOTA Kirloskar Motors inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government of Andhra Pradesh, yesterday to introduce electric vehicles in Amaravati. Andhra Pradesh to become the first state to introduce high end electric cars manufactured by Toyota Kirloskar.
MoU was signed in Amaravati in the presence of Minister for IT, Government of AP, Nara Lokesh and Managing Director of Toyota Kirloskar Akito Tachibana. Andhra Pradesh has been showing proactiveness to push the use of electric vehicles in the state. It is planning to introduce electric cars in a big way in Visakhapatnam, Amaravati and Tirupati in the state.
It is also in discussions with electric bus manufacturers to introduce pilot project in Tirupati. While Japan had recently come forward to collaborate with AP government to setup Electronic Vehicles City in the state, in another recent move, Andhra Pradesh Government has taken steps to introduce futuristic Hyperloop transportation system giving a huge boost to smart mobility in the state.
