Trade Mark Dy Registrar sentenced to one year RI & Rs 25K fine

CHENNAI, AUG 24, 2017: THE CBI Court has convicted the Deputy Registrar of Trade Mark for one year in a corruption case filed by the CBI.
The Anti-Corruption Branch of CBI, Chennai investigated a case against N.D.Kasturi, Deputy Registrar of Trade Mark, Chennai Intelluctual Property Office, GST Road, Guindy, Chennai who abetted by her husband Dayakar Nainar during the check period from 01.04.2000 to 31.03.2010 and possessed disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs.2,22,67,322/- for which she could not give any satisfactory explanation.
After completion of investigation, charge sheet was filed by CBI against the accused persons. On completion of trial, the accused was convicted and sentenced to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment of one year. A fine of Rs. 25,000/- was imposed on her.
