MCA strikes off names of 81 non-operational LLPs

NEW DELHI, JULY 06 2017: The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has recently proposed to removethe names of 81 LLPs (L imited Liability Partnerships) from the Register and to dissolve them, considering that they have not been carrying on any business or operation for a period of two immediately preceding financial years.
Section 75 of LLP Act provides that w here the Registrar has reasonable cause to believe that a Limited Liability Partnership is not carrying on business or its operation, in accordance with the provisions of LLPAct, it may be struck off after giving a reasonable opportunity of being heard.
In this regard,a Public Notice dated June 30, 2017 has been issued by MCA. It has been informed that any objection to the proposed removal of name of the LLPs can be sent to MCA within one month from the date of publication of notice.
