Minister flags off NTPC's Hazaribagh coal project

NEW DELHI, FEB 17, 2017: THE first coal rake of NTPC's Pakri-Barwadih coal mine at Hazaribagh has been flagged-off by Shri Arun Jaitley Union Minister of Finance; Shri Raghubar Das, Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Piyush Goyal Union Minister of State (I/C) for Power, Coal, N&RE and Mines and Jayant Sinha, Union Minister of State for Aviation, through remote control in a ceremony held at Ranchi. Shri Gurdeep Singh CMD, TPC, Shri Kulamani Biswal, Diretor(Finance) and Shri KK Sharma Director (Operations), were present on the occasion.
The coal mine will have ultimate capacity of 18 Million Metric Tonne per annum. About 2-3 Million Metric Tonne of coal is likely to be produced from the mine next year. Coal will be supplied to different power stations of NTPC from the mine, initially Barh Power Station of NTPC will be supplied one coal rake daily.

Company has 19 coal based, 7 gas based, 9 solar PV, one Hydro and 9 Subsidiaries/Joint Venture power stations. Company has capacity of over 23,000 MW under implementation at 23 locations across the country including 4300 MW being undertaken by joint venture and subsidiary companies. First wind power project - Rojmal Wind Energy Project 50 MW is being set up in the State of Gujarat at an appraised estimated cost of Rs. 323.35 Crore.
